What unites the five artists in this exhibition is not their artistic practice, as each one approaches their work in a unique way, but rather the path they have chosen to pursue their shared dream of living from their passion for art.

In reference to Woody Allen's famous film "Midnight in Paris," where the main character travels through time as a form of escape to find inspiration, meeting those who would later become the most famous artists of the 20th century, this exhibition offers both artists and visitors a space to reflect on art and appreciate creation in the simplest way, by taking the time to observe and understand each artist's universe.

This shows also highlights the importance of community in each artist's pursuit and has been conceived as a space for sharing, offering, for the duration of the exhibition, a moment of escapism. To nourish our inspiration, the exhibition features painting, collage, photography, and creation itself.

Choi Youngung was born in South Korea and arrived in France in 2010 to study at the Beaux-Arts de Versailles. He is now based in Paris and approaches painting in an abstract manner that involves movement and the exploration of the limits of painting as a medium.

Park Woojung was born in Busan and came to France 22 years ago, where he decided to settle and begin a career in photography. He is primarily interested in the close relationship between life and death, which he addresses in a sensitive and abstract manner. The Korean artist has also worked on a series of photographs taken in the Paris metro, separating us from the reality of the active world: a space-time where people underground seem trapped with their thoughts.

Alexandre Carin was born in Tehran, Iran, and arrived in France as a child to escape the Islamic Revolution. He found a new home in Paris. Alexandre is particularly inspired by cinema and the power it gives to images. He explores the dilation of time and plays with light as a subject in his paintings to reveal a distorted reality of our world.

Gu Sang Hee lived in France for nearly nine years, moving through various cities before settling longer in Paris. She studied at the Beaux-Arts de Versailles. She is interested in the simplicity and beauty found in everyday moments, objects, and details that often go unnoticed. She magnifies them through warm colours and strokes that verge on abstraction. In this exhibition, she presents collages of her memories of Paris.

Choi Hyungsub studied at the Beaux-Arts de Marseille in the south of France. Hyungsub explores personal introspection and expresses in his paintings what cannot be seen by the human eye, musical notes, feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and human intuitions that float around us and accompany us in waves throughout our existence, like untouchable vibrations.
